Another year around the sun as I turn 41 today.
Looking back, I think 40 might just be the year that changed everything.
It was the year I stepped away from a career that had been part of my identity for more than 15 years. The year I stopped chasing the next meeting, the next deadline—and started chasing sunshine and intention instead.
It was the year I allowed myself to take a chance on something I knew very little about, trusting that I could learn as I went.
And what a year it’s been.
I’ve met incredible people who started as customers and have become friends. I’ve watched neighbors stop by just to chat. I’ve felt supported in ways I never expected. I’ve traded rushed days for slower mornings, dirt under my nails, crazy tan lines, and work that feels deeply fulfilling.
As I tell my kids often… “get comfortable being uncomfortable”. Not every day has been easy, but every day has reminded me that sometimes the biggest growth comes from saying yes to the thing that scares me.
Here’s to 41… and to continuing to learn, grow, and create something beautiful on this little corner of the SE side.
