A little while ago I took a leap of faith and answered a call for submission by Nevada County Arts & Culture and the California Arts Council to become a 2026 Fellow with the Upstate Individual Artists Fellowship. I was chosen to be one of 15 Northern California artists to join together as the 2026 cohort. It’s an honor to represent Modoc County, and Surprise Valley and I hope this will help get the word out to the world that we have an art community on par with anywhere in California! I look forward to meeting the other Fellows and finding great ways for us to collaborate.

SORTED! Litter crisis averted.

If there is someone who will be coming to visit the shop from Alturas today, the Feline Employees would be grateful if you could bring them a bag of Feline Pine litter from Holiday. They have cash in paw to reimburse you, and will be happy to provide purrs and love. Their employer remembered to go to the bank, but not to the store.

So while you are all potlucking this weekend, I am in Hopland learning some traditional hide tanning with Tamar Ingber, and camping in my car. I chose a challenging hide so I could make sure to have all the problems while there is someone to answer the questions. We could totally do this at the shop. Anyone interested?

Also, I’m using my pegloom rugs to sleep on!
