This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the men and women who gave everything in service to others, starting on the battlefield, continuing back home in the streets, and in those who continued their servitude in our firehouses.
Featured here on a recent trip to Boston is Curtis Bell: Corporal, USMC (2002–2006), veteran of tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa, and an active firefighter since 2008. Today, Curtis carries the memory of those he served beside and loved:
• John Hartwig, GySgt, USMC — KIA 18DEC2015
• Lindsey Hartley, Cpl, USMC — KIA 12AUG2018
• Stephen Jackel, Sgt, US Army — KIA 3JAN2018
• Wade Bell, Paramedic, Amarillo Medical Service — EOW 21MAR2016
As we honor the fallen this weekend, our hearts are also with the family, friends, and brothers and sisters of Bob Kilduff following his tragic Line of Duty Death Saturday night.
It is a solemn and humbling coincidence that this month’s Firehouse Shirt Club release features the patch and shirt of Boston Fire Department Rescue 2. Tomorrow, with the help of Rescue 2 we will share details on a commemorative shirt being created to help support Bob’s family, along with information on how to donate. Currently, you can give directly to his GoFundMe via link: https://giving.gofundme.com/campaign/804941/donate
Tonight, we simply ask everyone to remember the names, remember the sacrifice, and hold your people a little closer.
Never forgotten. 🇺🇸🔥
