Hello everyone. A lot of things are happening right now and I want to keep everyone who has supported the store, up to date.
So right off the bat TLDR: Are we coming back? Yes. In a brick and mortar store? No. In a completely new form? Yes. Do we hope to return to brick and mortar someday? Yes.
The Druid's Library is becoming A NON-PROFIT FREE STORE! To be clear, we are not a registered nonprofit yet but we will be registering as a 501c3 as soon as we raise the money to do so.
Our mission is to fight the ignorance that breeds hate. We will be curating our inventory to focus on fighting that ignorance. We will stock books, DVDs, and any other form of media that shines a light on the lives and stories of those who are often the targets of hate including LGBTQIA+, Black, Immigrant, Hispanic, Women, and others.
Also, We are also becoming MOBILE!
Right now we cannot afford a single fixed location but we can take our mission on the road. We will be setting up a booth everywhere and anywhere we can.
And when we say a booth, we plan on making a booth that feels like a store. We are still dedicated to being a place where people can hang out, sit down, and read or just relax. This will yake time and our current setup is definitely still just a booth but with your support we will get there.
DID I MENTION EVERYTHING IS FREE!?
We are now a FREE STORE. That means owning the items you want from our store is as easy as picking up the items you want, telling a volunteer what items you are taking (so we can remove them from inventory), and walking out the door.
And yes I did say VOLUNTEER! A huge benefit of being a non-profit is that we can finally have volunteers. We had so many people who offered to volunteer at our store in the past but unfortunately as a for-profit company we couldn't do that. Well now we can! At the moment we are still putting things in place but you can be sure that we will post it here as soon as we start volunteer signups.
And...I believe that's it. This FB page will be where we post all updates so watch this space to find out where we'll be and when. Check our events for all upcoming locations.
