today is the day my heart broke in 2001
•
today is the day that my sons’ best friend + Andy’s biggest supporter lett us
•
today is the day I witnessed my mom take her last breath on this side of reality
•
It was a most holy + heart wrenching moment
•
today is the day that i could no longer seek out my mother’s advice and had to learn to listen to The Voice that doesn’t use words
•
today is the day that I had to decide what kind of woman-friend-sister I was going to be and create a design for the culture of our family..and walk that path every day.
•
thankfully my mother’s friends became my friends and they showed me the way
•
in the last 25 years, my sons have
* learned to walk-run + swim
* learned to read
* fell in love with school
* discovered their creative side
* discovered sports
* were formed by the Jesuits
* learned to drive
* fell in love
* graduated college
pretty much in that order
•
it has been a lifetime without her but she is never far because anytime we are sad-happy-lost-scared or celebrating, she has shown us she is near with a penny in the most unlikely places

25 years later, today is the day I am reminded that on the day i thought it was all over, it was a new beginning

she isn’t actually gone; she’s been with us every step the way🩵
