GRAAL VASE - TULIPS - For Sale $650

Beautiful Graal Vase with Tulips on a blue background.
Graal is a process where the artists paints onto a glass blank with special paints.
The glass blower then puts it through their process blowing it into the final form.
Creation date: 2007
Material: Glass
This vase has tulips around the outside on a sky blue background with white clouds.
The opening is approximately 1-1/2 to 2" in diameter.
Vase is approximately 7" tall.

Artist: Beth Shira Carver. (1943-2011) Beth Shira Carver, was a PNW artist, born in 1943 in Alert Bay village on Cormorant Island, British Columbia (near Vancouver Island), and died on October 12, 2011, as a result of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
She lived in numerous places in Canada and California eventually settling in South King County, Washington State.
Beth's art was shown in multiple galleries and people living all over Canada and the US have her creations.
Beth worked in numerous mediums: oil painting, watercolors, sculpture, pen and ink, stained glass, and fused glass with a brief time in experimenting in the Graal technique. All these skills were self-taught. In July 2011, she won 3rd place at the Equine Art show at Emerald Downs for her fused glass piece. Previously she'd won Oregon's statewide exhibit.

Glassblower: Sean Kif, with Uptown Glassworks. Nothing more is known about him.

This vase has five (5) horses running on it with a multi-colored background.
The opening is approximately 3" in diameter.
Vase is approximately 7" tall by 7" at widest point, and approximately 4" thick.

For sale: Vintage African Malachite Chess Set $595

Purchased 1981 in Kinshasa, Zaire, now known as The Congo.
Handmade Malachite And Granite board with brass inlay. The richness of the Malachite contrasting with the Granite is unique as usually marble (not granite) was used. Laid on solid wood. The board is approximately 15-1/4" x 15-1/2" and 1/2" thick.
16 Malachite Chess pieces and 16 white marble Chess pieces included. Tallest piece is approximately 2-3/4". Pawns are approximately 1-1/4" tall. One of the white bishops has been repaired. See photo. All hand carved.

Welcome to my page. While working in the 1980s - early 1990s, I managed to visit quite a few countries and I purchased a "few" items along the way. I have downsized and decided to create this page to find new homes for these items.
I will be posting a few at a time. Most are from Africa, Sri Lanka/India, England and Europe.
I will also be including vintage American cut glass items and other vintage American collectibles that I managed to accumulate over the years.

Shipping within the continental USA is included with most. If not indicated, shipping will be at buyer's expense. Multiple items will be packaged together to keep shipping costs down.
If the buyer is local to the Seattle - Olympia, Washington area, can arrange a meet up.

Once an item is sold, it will be removed.
