After over a year of service, we will be closing our doors at Johnson’s Game Vault. For those of you that have owned a business, you know that the key to success is location, location, location. While we have enjoyed serving our community from the corner of Water and Liberty streets, we are increasingly confident that our success would be more sustainable at another location in Centreville.
We are engaging a strategic pause and liquidating our stock in preparations for a relaunch in the near future. Today (Sat, Feb 29) we are having a sidewalk sale and will continue our 50% off sale until we close our doors.
We’ve been asked if the town has been supportive to us on this journey. The main street program and other town resources have been crucial to our success. We could not be more thankful to the town for his support.
We pray the new game store at the Food Lion shopping center will be successful. Their core services and products are not necessarily competitive with ours and we have had conversations with them about partnering on events for our youth. We look forward to working with them and wish them every success!
Co-owner Eric Johnson has been enduring medical complications from his military service in Afghanistan. These health challenges have been difficult and scary for our family. Thank God his VA and local doctors are figuring things out and getting him back to 100% imminently. In the meantime, the strategic pause will help us focus on his health and well-being.
We can’t thank our community enough for their support and encouragement. This is not goodbye, but see you later!
