Know your presser feet...
This is an easy to overlook issue, and it is somewhat common.
You can not expect your machine to produce miracles and stich zig zag when you have a straight stitch presser foot on the needle shaft.
The story can go on and on.
We had a customer swear that her machine would not perform anything other that a straight stitch and wanted the issue resolved. We advised her that she needed different feet to perform certain stitches and she got very upset and took her machine to another shop.
The same goes for needle/throat plates.....please be sure that they are set for the desired stitch..
Use the wrong plate and have needle strikes and BAM, your machine is out if time and in the shop.

Here's a little cheat sheet that we share with all of our customers. This is the equivalent of the old saying 'an apple a day, keeps the doctor away' ;because it helps you to keep doing what you love to do and minimizes the down time of your machine.
This is very simple, but it is amazing to see how many have no idea.

For the love of your sewing machine(s)....please, please do not wait until it's too late and there are no other options other than to give it up as an organ donor.
We have seen numerous nice machines over the past few months that were used well but never properly maintained and they were simply beyond repair.
Please be sure to have your sewing machine(s) serviced regularly. Lint build up in areas that the regular operator doesn't see, thread wrapped around needle bars and wrapped tight under the hook race are machine killers. Not to mention the lack of oil to gears, cams and parts and they simply freeze up.
While we do sell quality sewing machines, our goal is not to sell you on one. Our goal is to send you home with your baby!

Business has been booming for the past couple of months and the word has been getting out that we are the best place to go in the tri-state! Machines from, not only local, but Gettysburg, Virginia, South Carolina and even Louisiana lately.
All being said to inform that we will take a short vacation from 23-28 April.
Please get your machines in by mid next week to ensure return before we go off and enjoy some warm weather!
