"RC has always been the lifeblood in our family for over 50 years. My Papa introduced my father into RC when my parents were dating and both of them were a big influence on me when I started flying in 1986. Long before wired and wireless buddy box systems, my father patiently taught me how to fly by standing behind me and putting his hands over mine. Skip ahead 38 years later and the passion and love for our hobby is still strong and growing in the Reibert family. My children have dabbled in the buddy box making them 4th generation RC pilots in our family. Over the years, with SpektrumRC's wireless buddy box system, I've been able to give back and teach my father how to fly helicopters. The truest full circle of RC life. "My son, Zephyr, has been flying with me since... the beginning. When he was really little he used to carry around a transmitter and think he was flying. He figured out he was not in control at about 2 and a half. He was on the sim early and started with a Duet at 4, and soloed on a Parkzone Corsair at 6. This picture was taken at the Northwest Seaplane Championships put on by the Portland Sky-Knights, at Pine Hollow reservoir in Oregon. This was my favorite event growing up, and it has become my family's favorite since having kids because everyone loves the lake. Zephyr took 3rd place with the Icon the year we took this picture, and last summer he beat everyone with a Timber X Evolution. Zephyr has become quite the hotshot pilot and earned the nickname, 'bullzeye', for his splash down runs at our float fly where he nails the target zone for spot landings pretty much every time!"

"Although I didn't do RC flying with my dad, he was the one that put the love of everything aviation in me. We would go to the observation deck at Laguardia airport in NYC and watch all the planes taking off and landing. The picture below, from left to right, is my grandfather (my father's father), my father and me, once again on the observation deck at Laguardia airport."
