Welcome to MAKA Beauty – Independent Like You Since 1991
MAKA Beauty is a family-owned and operated independent wholesale distributor of professional beauty products, proudly founded in Tempe, Arizona, in 1991 by Michael and Kathy Montagna.
For more than three decades, Michael and Kathy dedicated themselves to supporting independent stylists, salons, and beauty professionals. From the very beginning, their goal was simple: provide great products, build lasting relationships, take care of our customers, and truly MAKA Difference.
Today, MAKA is owned and led by their daughter Anna, who grew up alongside the family business, and now carries her parents’ vision into the next generation. Alongside her husband, Nick, and the entire MAKA team, Anna continues to grow the company while staying true to the values her parents built it on more than 35 years ago.
A big part of the MAKA Difference is affordability. We work hard to keep our prices lower than other professional beauty distributors and intentionally partner with quality, affordable brands. Our goal is to help stylists and salon owners keep their product costs down, protect their profits, and keep more of the money they work so hard to earn.
We believe professional beauty products should be high quality without carrying an unnecessarily high price tag. As an independent distributor ourselves, we understand how important every dollar is to an independent stylist or salon owner.
While MAKA has grown tremendously since 1991, now with 13 stores and covering 5 states, we remain proudly family-owned and independent. And no matter how much we grow, one thing will never change: our customers and customer service will always be our #1 priority.
