Your resident Leo wine ladies just leveled up another year, so we threw a patio oyster roast… with a side of fundraising magic for Triangle Mutual Aid to help local spots bounce back after Chantal.

Roasted oysters + shrimp, smoked fish dip, too much cheese (never enough), rivers of wine, and more French caviarthan is probably legal in North Carolina. 🤪

Huge love to everyone who came to toast with us, to Locals Seafood for shucking the seafood treats, and to Browne Trading Co. for the delish French caviar that we were all too happy to bump with our wonderful guests. 💋🐟🥂

Ooh la la, Bastille Day was très hot—and we’re not just talking about the 95° weather. 🥵🔥 Sixty of you showed up and showed out for our Frenchified patio brunch, featuring wines + ciders from the unstoppable trio of Authentique Vin: Thomas Meunier, Greg Pfaender, and Tyler Morgan!

Jambon beurre? ✅. Quiche Lorraine? Obviously. Delectable pastries from Raleigh’s Lucette Grace? Oui oui, bébé. 🇫🇷

Special shoutout to our très chic outfit winners Theresa and Briton (swipe to peep them with Paula, Laura, and Thomas)—the berets were beret-ing. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Y’all, pretty much EVERYTHING in the shop will be marked down by 20%!!! 🔥🔥🔥

And if last year’s inventory reduction sale taught us anything, it’s gonna be a madhouse today and Tuesday.

We’ll be open from 12 - 7pm on both days, which means that there’s a high probability that selections would have thinned out by the 31st. READ: I highly suggest you bring a friend or two, grab your wine totes, and scoot your tushies to the shop tomorrow rather than waiting. 😉

🎂🎂 SECOND BIRTHDAY BASH! 🎂🎂

We celebrated our second trip around the sun yesterday evening surrounded by all the people we love. 🥰

In the past two years 53,2066 bottles were sold and 87 classes and events were held at Rocks and Acid. We welcomed 7,884 guests during this period and many have become regulars.

There were guests who walked (from our very own Southern Village community), some drove from afar (Charlotte! Asheville!), and some even flew in from other states (shout out NY, CA, FL!). Laura, Brian, Ryan, and I are incredibly thankful for this continuous outpouring of love and support. 🥹🙏🏼❤️

The spotlight also belongs to these folks:

MasterBBQ Asheville owners and fellow Filipinos, Paul and Julia Pike for the amazing salu-salo spread. It was such an honor to be able to feature our very own cuisine to my American family. We cannot wait to have you guys back in Southern Village!!!

For the amazing desserts: Audrey Simons of Simons Says Dip This for the out-of-this-world Ube Tres Leches, Peanut de la Cruz of EatBadOven fame - another fellow Filipino! - for her sough-out Oob Cloud Cake, and Christine Wesche for the Almond Cake. Y’all made yesterday so much sweeter.

Max Kast, Hai Tran, and Michael Klinger - my brothers-in-arm in wine and mentors. I would not know anything about wine if not for you pushing me at the beginning of my journey in wine.

Hannah Seligson, Brian Cansler, and Ryan Lanford - you are now an indelible part of Rocks and Acid’s fabric. Thank you for wanting to be part of all of it.

My EMP family - Dan Bae, Pam Vasquez, and Ann Sim, who flew in from all corners of the country. For loving me so much and believing in me, so much so that I could never give up on myself even if I tried. 🥹

And the beautiful living and beating heart of the shop, on whose loyalty and friendship Rocks and Acid operates on every single day, my right hand, my partner-in-crime, Laura Francis. I cannot imagine doing this without you. I am forever grateful. 💙
