So excited to have won 3rd place at the Crooked Creek Art League annual juried show last night. It was a great banquet and a lot of good artist participating. Honored to be part of this art league.

Had a fun morning painting with the Plein Air group from the museum. Did this 11x14 oil painting and sold it to a beautiful young girl named Luna and her father at J.C.A. Auto Service just across the road from where we were painting. Go by his place and check it out.

Finally finished my second piece for the state fair and dropped them off today. Thought I would try something different this year. This is a P-51 Mustang that I took a photo of at the Shaw Air Base Show a few years ago. It is 28" x 14 1/2" Oil on plywood.

Thought I would try a watercolor painting for a change. This one is 12x16 on 300 # watercolor paper. It is a stream off the Roaring Fork Loop just behind Gatlinburg. It is a 5.5 mile one way loop with great walks and hikes. I'm ready for vacation now!

Our art league had a challenge for members to "Paint the Masters" where each artist was ask to paint a 11x14 of their favorite old master artist. I chose Johannes Vermeer's "Girl With a Pearl Earring" to try and reproduce. Here is my attempt.

This is a commission painting I completed for a friend to give her husband for Christmas. It is 16x20 oil on canvas in a barn wood frame. Can you see the resemblance?

I am submitting my painting for the ArtFields competition again this year in Lake City, SC. I just finished it and wanted to post for comments before submitting. This one is 30" x 24" oil on stretched canvas. It is from a photo of Santorini Greece a friend of mine took while vacationing there. I actually bought the frame and then picked the photo I wanted to paint to match.
