Holmes Family Farm Tallow has been restocked. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out! It is deeply moisturizing, soothing, and smells fantastic!

Also, their vanilla extract is back, too! I don't use anything else!! It's definitely a customer favorite and only $12 for a 4 oz. bottle!

What a wonderful Crazy Days weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out August 7–8, shopped local, and helped make the event such a success. We loved seeing so many familiar faces: and welcoming new ones, too!

Even though Crazy Days is over, our shelves are still stocked with plenty to discover, including Iowa-made foods and gifts, handcrafted home goods, body care, farm supplies, animal nutrition, household essentials, and more.

We’re grateful for your continued support of our family-owned store and the Iowa farmers and makers we’re proud to support. Stop in and see what’s new( we’re always happy to help!)

Please don't judge this meal based on this picture (pictures get more attention than text). It tastes delicious. It just looks strange because I couldn't leave to buy broth and cream to create the recipe as written. I used rooibos tea for broth instead of chicken broth and a roux instead of heavy cream. I also left the peels on the potatoes because I'm lazy and I didn't have to worry about all the chemicals that are sprayed on store-bought potatoes. These potatoes are chemical free.

After that long intro, here is the message:

Thank you to A Dozen Hands Homestead for the lovely farm bundle and recipe for leek and potato soup. This is my first time eating leeks, and I love them in this recipe! All of the produce was so fresh and easy to prepare.

The leftovers from this meal will be frozen and will last for many additional meals. AND I still have garlic, onion, and cucumbers left for lunch tomorrow. All for only $15!!!
