Happy Sunday, friends! We continue to add unique and interesting pieces to The Vintage Necktie Preservation Project. We've collected so many beautiful and colorful ties over the years. They don't seem to be "trending" as neckwear so much these days, so we're getting creative with these little wearable pieces of art. It all began with purses, but my ultimate goal was to make a skirt. After 20,000 hours (not exaggerating much) of working it all out, here she is!! I used my favorite vintage skirt as my pattern, which sits below the waistline. It’s my favorite fit. Ties in the purple/lavender magenta/fuchsia pallette are a bit harder to find, but that's where I landed. This skirt has a zipper, but we probably won't be doing that again, deducting 5,000 hours for the additional drama. I added hidden pockets in the seams on both sides and finished off with a cotton lining for keeping it cool and comfortable. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Moving forward with new ideas for the next one, stay tuned!
