A truly wild day at Pitt Street Bridge. 🐢🦅
While leading a charity birding tour for Charleston Audubon with three wonderful local photographers—Joe, Charlie, and Rufus—we were treated to an incredible variety of wildlife.
Around 2 PM on a falling tide, Black Skimmers and terns were actively feeding around Pitt Street Bridge. Many were catching fish in the creeks and harbor before carrying them back to their nests on nearby Crab Bank.
The reel only captures a small part of what we experienced. By the end of the afternoon, we had recorded nearly 30 bird species along with a Diamondback Terrapin, a mink, dolphins, a shark, a stingray, and plenty of fish activity.
Some days everything just comes together.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen at Pitt Street Bridge?
