I know it sounds crazy, but people have already started their holiday shopping!!

And don’t get me wrong, holiday shopping is when most small businesses actually start to turn a profit for the year, so I should be looking forward to the holiday rush… but there’s something about shopping this time of year that makes me sad!

And it’s this: people feel like they can only buy for others, and feel guilty if they buy something for themselves.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but what you wear and how you style it?! That is how you express yourself! Your jewelry is a reflection of who you are and the story that you wish to tell.

So, while you’re shopping for others, don’t ignore that nagging voice on the back of you’re head telling you that you haveeeeee to have a certain piece. That voice is your inner knowing and that is your sign to add to cart! 🛒🤷🏻‍♀️

jewelry has always been about the story it tells for me rather than being a pretty piece to adore my body with... that’s part of why my goal behind every piece of jewelry that I create is to evoke some kind of an emotional response or sense of connection.

Moonstone, a stone of femininity, new beginnings, and motherhood felt like the most fitting gemstone for my pregnancy/motherhood journey.

The day I found out I was pregnant, I made myself a moonstone bracelet… And by the time I was ready to give birth, my wrist had become so swollen, that it no longer fit. Naturally, I had to make myself a new one! (Spy me wearing it in this cover photo on my right hand!).

for the first time, I have created a near replica of that bracelet! And, because I am obsessed with these faceted chunks, created the same style in labradorite, as well!

Staying with our coastal-inspired pieces for at least one more day… so, if you’re not ready to let go of summer yet either, these earrings are for you!

These pink shell sharded earrings first debuted in my Etsy shop last summer, and they have been revived with a twist. Instead of gold, twisted hoops, this year, I’m pairing them with turquoise chips! As a reminder, because the shells are natural, no two are the same, although efforts have been made to pair them based on length/with to create fraternal, twin sister pairs 😍🐚

Only two pairs remain after our market last weekend, so be sure to snag yours!

Taking a break from Italy inspiration for a minute to share another summer inspired design!

It may be mid-August, but it is still a “feels like” of 100°+ here in the south, so veryyyyy much feels like summer!

I have really enjoyed designing with this lava rock star bead this summer, and this time, I paired it with dyed howlite and magnesite to create an easy summer piece. Measuring 20”, that you could easily layer this with your favorite pearl necklace or gold chain!… Or both?!

Love it, but feel like you need an excuse to buy? I can give you a number of reasons, but here are my two favorites:
(1) You are someone who likes to take the beach with you everywhere you go, and you are NOT ready for summer to be over!
(2) You are dreading the impending shorter days and are planning your all-inclusive vacation to a beach resort and obviously need some resort-ready accessories!

I’m not usually big on sneak peeks, usually because I spill the beans too quickly when I’m excited 😂 but I wanted to share the inspiration behind these designs, so here we are!

Every year for the last four years when we have gone to Italy, I am always blown away at the fact that certain things from 2000+ years ago still exist, and this trip was no exception. While visiting the Doge’s Palace museum while we were in Venice, we walked through an entire room of an ancient coins! These coins became the inspiration behind my newest collection of Roman/Greek-inspired coin charm necklaces!

Every charm combination was designed to feel like something discovered in an old European market. And in fact, when we went through an antique market during our trip, we came home with some vintage keys and saw the coolest vintage padlocks. So when I say our Italy trip inspired these designs, I mean it!

Stay tuned to see each of these or charm necklaces in all of their glory in the coming days!

I’m not going to say that my hubs has been replaced as my #1 when it comes to helping me select beads or in making certain creative decisions, but I will say that baby girl did a great job helping me with some selections this past weekend!

While it wasn’t as relaxing of an adventure, as it has been in years past (we had to constantly check that she wasn’t trying to put the beads in her mouth 😂), it continues to be so enjoyable seeing her have new experiences and watching her show interest in things that we enjoy. I can’t wait until the day when she can take a more active role in creating with me!

If it seems like new items have not been added to the Etsy shop as quickly as usual, it’s because they haven’t 🤣

These days, I spend most of my time chasing Sofia around the house while trying to balance her desire for exploration with her safety (and my sanity).

Our baby is ONE and yesterday we celebrated with friends and family who have all played a huge role in her little life to this point. My phone was no where in sight the whole day 😅 but I wanted to share some photos to highlight some of the local small businesses who helped make this day a success!
