Moving somewhere smaller is harder than moving somewhere bigger.

One way through it: pack what's definitely coming first. Whatever's still sitting there when the totes are full, that's your donate pile.

You don't have to take clothes off the hangers.

Grab a bundle, pull a trash bag up over them, and lay them flat across the top of a tote. Unpacking is just hanging them back up.

Moving with a dog? Pack them their own tote.

Food, bowls, leash, treats, meds, and their bed right on top. First one off the truck so they settle in while you unpack.

Easy trick for unloading day:

Give every room a number. Write it on the lid of every tote from that room, then tape the same number on the door frame at the new place. Whoever's carrying just matches numbers.
