In 1997 after breaking ground in Utah, USA to build a cabin a 36 Karat Emerald was discovered almost immediately. Unfortunately they never found more Emeralds but they did find this extremely rare form of Calcite. After the University of Utah examined, classified and carbon dated the rare stone they estimate this Calcite to be over 200 million years old! The couple who found this vein of 265,000 t

ons actually got to name it since this particular form of Calcite had never been found anywhere else in the world. They called it Honeycomb Calcite for its naturally forming honeycomb pattern found in the stone. It is estimated to last about 20 years.
