It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our longtime former Sales Counselor, Cathy Cornell Wright.

Cathy was a valued member of the Sears Monument Company family for many years. She helped countless families during some of their most difficult moments, and her kindness, dedication, and service will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Cathy’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

We’re proud to share that our team had the opportunity to attend the School of Hard Rocks in Elberton, Georgia last week, where they learned a variety of stone carving techniques from some of the monument industry’s most talented and respected carvers.

We’re especially excited to celebrate Heather, our Plant Manager, who won the coveted Luken Mallet Award for her outstanding carved piece. This marks Heather’s second time winning the Mallet, and this year’s award-winning piece was a beautifully carved violin body created from granite.

We’re also excited to share the other incredible projects our team created during the event, along with photos that highlight the carving process and the skill, creativity, and dedication that went into each piece.

We are so proud of our team for continuing to learn, grow, and represent our company so well.

We are so excited to have an additional hand-etcher on our team! This beautiful eagle was hand-etched and modeled after a photo. Hand-etchings are one of a kind and each one is unique in its own way. We think hand-etchings are a beautiful addition to your memorial, making them one of a kind and unique. We are happy to work with our customers to make sure their vision is captured on the stone.

Unfortunately, Stephanie’s monument was damaged in a forest fire. Her family entrusted us to restore it, and through careful hand-tooling and sandblasting, we were able to bring her memorial back to its beautiful form. Here are the before-and-after photos of the restoration.
