Whether you’re dreaming of crushing drives or just making the back‑nine without running out of steam, the secret isn’t a magic club – it’s the work you do off the course.

• Build your engine: Cardio workouts like brisk walking, cycling or HIIT improve cardiovascular health and stamina, letting you stay energized and focused through a long round . Better blood flow and mental clarity translate to smoother swings and fewer sloppy shots .

• Add horsepower: Strength training is a golfer’s best friend. Scientific reviews show that lifting weights can increase driving distance by up to 10.9 % and boost club‑head speed by as much as 6.3 % within 6–12 weeks . A strong lower body and core generate explosive yet controlled swing power .

• Dial in your aim: Working out improves neuromuscular control and proprioception – the “feel” for your swing. In one study, two pros improved their shot accuracy by 3.3 m and 5.07 m after just six weeks of strength training . Increased muscle strength and endurance also help with distance control and shorter putts .

The takeaway? Fitness isn’t optional for golfers. Combine endurance work, strength training and mobility drills to build a body that’s stable, powerful and precise. You’ll hit longer drives, stay sharp on the back nine and knock it closer to the pin – with fewer injuries along the way.

This historic event will celebrate the rich legacy of Greenwood, Oklahoma, and bring together golf enthusiasts for a weekend of competition and camaraderie.
