Axios Charlotte COMING SOON: Chef Andres Kaifer of
Customshop is teaming up with longtime friend and Miami chef Michael Beltran to open Roe & Olivia's in Lower South End later this year.
WHY IT MATTERS: The restaurant will bring together two chefs with ties to acclaimed restaurants in Charlotte and Miami under one roof.
CONTEXT: Kaifer owns Customshop in Elizabeth. Beltran is behind Miami restaurants Ariete and Chug’s Diner.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Roe & Olivia’s will serve contemporary American food influenced by the chefs’ Cuban and Spanish roots and seasonal ingredients.
The 3,644-square-foot restaurant will have about 120 seats, including patio seating. The chefs envision it as an all-occasion spot, from solo cocktails and snacks to business dinners and larger weekend gatherings.

We are so excited to welcome the chefs behind Customshop and Ariete to LosoVillage! 🎉🍽️

Longtime friends and acclaimed chefs Andres Kaifer and Michael Beltran are joining forces to open Roe & Olivia’s, a contemporary American restaurant named after their daughters. ❤️

Kaifer, chef-owner of Charlotte’s Customshop, and Beltran, the Miami chef behind Ariete and Chug’s Diner, plan to open Roe & Olivia’s later this year.

The 3,644-square-foot restaurant will take over the former Giovanna’s space, featuring approximately 120 seats across the dining room and patio.

We couldn’t be more excited to have Andres and Michael bring their talent, friendship, and a brand-new concept to LosoVillage . Welcome to the neighborhood! 🥂

Inspired by cafes in Europe, ’s Everyday Market debuted in Belmont (the town) in 2019. Last year, Amoorpour (previously of Bistro La Bon) expanded to - the new market boasts plenty of seating, a wall of gourmet provisions such as dry pasta and hand-selected wine, and an extensive pastry case. A large, peek-a-boo window creates an interactive experience, allowing guests to see through into the kitchen where homemade sweet and savory treats like focaccia and sourdough are being made. Desserts and pastries include coconut cake, muffins, scones, and raspberry and apricot rugelach, to name a few.
Everyday Market is also home to a decadent almond croissant, a popular choice thanks to the flaky dough and the frangipane or chocolate filling.
Toasts are also a thing here - all start with freshly baked bread, topped with ingredients such as smoked salmon, roasted mushrooms or pico de gallo. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches, flatbreads, and craft coffee beverages are also on the menu.
