What's on my needles?
All four pieces of Vacation, a pullover I'm knitting with Akari and Akari Solo, are up to the point where I need to add the next color. I'm planning to fussy piece the shoulder caps of the sleeves so the colors match. One sleeve is done, now to pull out yarn until I get to the next stripe repeat. I love garments with worsted weight and larger needles... they seem to fly by so much faster!
📓 - Vacation by Rosemary Drysdale

My birthday cast on is the Flock Vest. I chose three colors of Ideal from Manos del Uruguay and swatched earlier this week. I cast on the back yoke yesterday and am enjoying the unique construction and single row stripes!
📓 - Flock Vest by Andrea Mowry
🧶- Ideal from Manos del Uruguay; colors are Tahiti (MC), Natural and Zinnia.

I'm still stitching away on the Raccoon Sampler from Penguin & Fish and I'm really enjoying the different stitches I'm learning. I try to add in a new feature or stitch every week, so it's slow going. But I'm in no rush!

Our September COTM from Gnome River Yarns is available for preorder!

"The Knitter's Sweater Fitting Bible" is a fabulous new book that Karen and I are really thrilled to see. If you're a garment maker (or aspire to be!), I think this is a great addition to your library at home. We're putting our heads together to come up with a class/workshop in the future!

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese technique used for reinforcing, mending and decorating textiles. I'm really intrigued by the use of it for visible mending. I found a small business, Socorro Society, that creates kits and supplies products for it. YG is carrying two different kits, several "Stick 'n' Stitch" sheets and sashiko needles from Socorro Society. Snag yours and join me down the rabbit hole of visible mending!

I have started a new sweater called Vacation, designed by Rosemary Drysdale. It's originally published in the current Noro Magazine, but also available on Ravelry as a separate download.

I'm stitching on the Raccoon Sampler from Penguin & Fish and I'm really enjoying the different stitches I'm learning. Also, be sure to check out the new thread organizer Jason made me. Yet another little gadget that I'm eager to collect!

Twice Sheared Sheep goodies, including the super handy Remind Clips.

A new Spring/Summer yarn from Noro, called Ohajiki. This dk-to-light-worsted cotton blend is a subtle self-striping, perfect for summer tees and light scarves/wraps.

Ideal (pronounced eee-day-ul) from Manos del Uruguay - this breed-specific wool from Polwarth sheep is a luxurious tribute to Uruguay's wool industry. I'm planning (in my head, at least) to knit a Flock Vest from Tahiti, Zinnia and a third color.
