Save Central Avenue from CMPD Land Grab

Save Central Avenue from CMPD Land Grab Merry Oaks proposed rezoning Eastway Division plans to rezone three acres at Merry Oaks Road and Central Avenue for a new station.

We support the division's move to a better space; however, we believe there are alternative sites that would not require destruction of homes and trees. We urge the city and the police department to reconsider.

We lost the first round - CMPD will petition to rezone the site at Merry Oaks and Central. There will still be at least one public hearing where we can be heard. Stay tuned.

Morningside Village site is back on the table, but Chief Rodney Monroe does not like that site because it isn't on a main thoroughfare.
