Ann Bogan was an American R&B and soul singer best known for her contributions to the Motown sound, notably as a member of The Marvelettes.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, her musical journey began through her association with Harvey Fuqua. She recorded with him as part of the duo Harvey & Ann and as a member of The Challengers III on the Tri-Phi label.

She provided the uncredited lead vocals for "(Like A) Nightmare" (1964), which was the only headline single released by Motown's premier backing group, The Andantes.

In late 1967, Bogan officially joined The Marvelettes, replacing original lead singer Gladys Horton. She recorded three albums with the group—Sophisticated Soul, In Full Bloom, and The Return of The Marvelettes—and sang lead on tracks like "I'm Gonna Hold On As Long As I Can".

After the Marvelettes disbanded in 1970, she continued working with Fuqua as a vital part of the 1970s soul/funk group New Birth and its subgroup, Love, Peace & Happiness.

Bogan eventually retired from the music industry to focus on raising her children.

Following her passing, Juanita Cowart Motley remains the last surviving member to have performed with The Marvelettes.

Christy Knowings was a staple of late-90s children's television, best remembered for her energetic comedic timing.

She joined the sketch-comedy series "All That" in 1997 for Season 4 alongside newcomers Danny Tamberelli and Leon Frierson. She spent three seasons on the show, famously portraying Jessica in the popular, recurring “Whateverrr!!!” sketch alongside Amanda Bynes.

Some of her other roles included Penny Lane, Brenda Stone, and Lieutenant Fondue.

Between 2008 and 2011, she appeared in multiple episodes of Sesame Street alongside her real-life twin brother, Chris Knowings, who is a longtime cast member of the show.

After stepping away from Hollywood acting, she pursued writing—earning a credit on the 2009 film Mother and Child—and released a folk music single titled “To the World” in 2020.
