Dolly Parton’s "Islands in The Stream" dessert ✨️

There was nothing more fun than flipping through all the cheap gossip and finding the celebrity recipe section....

I have a book full of cut out recipes just like this one... Some of my favorite ones to make, too!

Gloria Steinem was an acclaimed American journalist, trailblazing feminist, and social movement activist.

She rose to national prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s as a leading spokesperson for the second-wave feminist movement in the United States.

For over six decades, her grassroots organizing, sharp writing, and media presence have fundamentally reshaped modern society's approach to gender equality, reproductive freedom, and systemic discrimination.

Graduated magna cm laude from Smith College in 1956. She later spent two years studying in India on a fellowship, which sparked her lifelong commitment to nonviolent grassroots activism.

Began working as a freelance journalist in New York City in 1960.

*Co-founded the groundbreaking feminist publication Ms. magazine in 1972. It became the first national periodical to address urgent issues like domestic violence, systemic sexism, and sexual harassment long before they entered mainstream public discourse.

*Co-founded the National Women’s Political Caucus in 1971 alongside iconic figures Betty Friedan, Bella Abzug, and Shirley Chisholm to increase women's participation in government.

Coined the phrase "reproductive freedom" and established herself as a fierce defender of equal pay, bodily autonomy, and intersectional civil rights.

Cassandra Wilson, the legendary and genre-bending jazz vocalist.

Wilson was widely celebrated for rewriting the rules of the traditional jazz vocal playbook.

Rather than sticking strictly to standard showtunes, she fearlessly woven elements of blues, folk, country, rock, and pop into her arrangements.

Critics routinely praised her ability to take songs by artists as varied as Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, and the Delta bluesman Robert Johnson, and completely reinvent them through a jazz lens.

In 2001, Time Magazine famously crowned her as "America's Best Singer".

She earned two Grammy Awards out of four nominations. Her critically acclaimed 1996 album New Moon Daughter won for Best Jazz Vocal Performance.

She took home her second Grammy in 2009 for the standards-focused album Loverly.

In 1997, Wilson toured internationally as the featured vocalist in Wynton Marsalis’s Blood on the Fields, which made history as the first jazz composition to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music.

In 2022, she received the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Jazz Masters Fellowship, the highest honor bestowed upon jazz musicians by the United States government.
