Here was a new challenge. A saddle horn kit for horseback riding. Bag water and flashlight. No idea how usable it will be. Daughter thought she may want one at some point so this was first try for retiring coworker whose next chapter had horses involved. Any feedback from those experienced would be appreciated. This is hickory bridle hide in 9 oz for base and 4/5oz for the accessories. Should stand up to the elements.

An anniversary present for my sweetie on our 25th (every anniversary is officially a leather anniversary). Horween 5-6 oz in a brilliant blue. Soft temper but strong. Straps in a dark blue bridle. Blue always looks good on her💙

A drawstring daypack in a favorite hide. I call it reverse teacore. Flesh side is darker than outside. Very cool looking. Horween. 5-6 oz thick. Havana brown bridle for straps, lace and button. A tick bigger than the saddle tab version to make laptop easier to get in and out. Still holds lunch too but light weight-ish

A small purse to hold wallet phone glasses and keys. Hickory harness tannage in thin 4-5oz (2.0-2.4mm). Very light yet durable. 8x4.5x1.5. With a wallet and glasses sleeve

A smallish sling bag requested by friend. A favorite oil tan hide that is soft and supple in a 6oz (2.4mm) thickness. Scratches rub out easy. And harness leather strap for long life. 7x5x1.5 to hold phone glasses wallet and keys

Trying a new scale travel kit. Horween Blue chrome excel tanned in 3-4 oz thickness. 3h x 4w x 8l. Holds eye fixins and hygiene for a normal trip. Has a loop to hang with interior tab pinned to keep things in when hanging. Also beside a large scale and small. Not pictured is xs and xl.

I have been wanting to convert fave daypack to leather for a while. Love how this turned out. Thanks to North Star Leather for supplying the Hoffman harness in saddle tan. 4-5 oz so has wonderful temper. I plan to use this for hikes and letting it get roughed up. Opened or full it measures 14h x 10w (tapers to 7 in front) x 7d. But drawstring allows it to flatten. I started with side pocket but detached so both sides collapse based on how full. The faux stitch line doesn’t bother me a bit. Still holds laptop and more room than standard builds for other things due to more cylinder shaped. I can’t wait to break this in and give it more character. This hide will patina too.

Well I used saddle soap on boots and ‘hoping’ they lighten a bit in coming days as they dry. But went all in with a laptop backpack in a summer lite carry. And North Star Leather belt. All in Horween Essex tannage in natural. 5/6oz thickness. 9w x 12h x 2.5d. Worst case they all patina like the boots with use and sun exposure. The important note is the hide temper. This hide is sooooo soft. This is why the veggie tan is used for straps and rivet reinforcements to prevent stretch. Oh and thick veggie tan makes a great-wearing button closure.
