What an incredible Saturday. Our first annual BraveWalk: Step Into Her Story brought together 131 walkers, countless supporters, and so much heart—and we’re still feeling the energy.

Because when you showed up, you did more than walk.

You reminded every woman on a journey of healing and rebuilding that she doesn’t walk it alone.

As Kyla shared that morning, “What makes that journey so beautiful is that she doesn’t walk it alone.” She has our staff, board, volunteers, community partners, sponsors, donors—and now, she has all of you.

Every step around that course was a step beside her. A step toward healing. Toward stability. Toward believing in herself again. Toward what comes next.

To everyone who walked, volunteered, sponsored, donated, cheered us on, brought their people (and their pups 🐶), or simply believed in what we’re building—thank you. You made our first BraveWalk one to remember.

Our very first BraveWalk: Step Into Her Story was a success—and we have YOU to thank.

To every walker, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and supporter who showed up: thank you. 💛 Your energy, generosity, and willingness to be part of this first chapter made the morning so special.

Thank you for celebrating our artisans—the heart of everything we do and the reason we walk. Each woman represents the transformation that can happen at BraveWorks when women have the support, resources, and space to heal, rebuild, and thrive. We were especially grateful to celebrate our Brave Award recipients and for you to meet Charlotte, our I Am Blooming Award recipient. As Charlotte shared, “My life has changed because of BraveWorks.” That’s a statement we don’t take lightly. It’s a reminder of why this work matters—and why we’ll keep showing up.
A huge thank you to the Queens University Lacrosse Team for bringing the energy, jumping in wherever you were needed, and simply being there to help make the day happen. We truly couldn’t have done it without you!

And thank you to Kehulani Charlotte Photo Booth Rental for bringing your amazing mobile photobooth experience and helping us capture the joy of the day. 📸✨

✨ Meet Ella, our summer intern!

From day one, Ella was all in—and quickly became such a valuable part of our team. She brought curiosity, initiative, and a fresh perspective that reminded us how much a younger voice can add to the work we do.

During her time at BraveWorks, Ella helped with Stand in Bravery, researched resources for our programs, and got a behind-the-scenes look at the work that keeps our mission moving. Most importantly, she brought a genuine heart for serving others.

We’re so grateful for the energy, perspective, and hard work Ella brought to BraveWorks this summer. 💛

Here’s what Ella had to say about her experience:

“My time at BraveWorks may have been short, but it was so impactful. The employees intentionally create programs to help women who have experienced trauma turn their pain into purpose. As an intern, I had the privilege of helping out with their Stand in Bravery event, find resources for the program, and learn about the behind-the-scenes office tasks. I gained valuable hands-on experience that emphasized my passion for human services even more. The people make the place. Can’t wait to volunteer with them soon!💛”
