Hello, Friends of the Goods!
When I began moving into the store in November, I furnished it largely by buying unmarked boxes from auctions and hoping for the best with the contents. Sometimes the items were great, other times they were (quite literally) trash. Either way, we have all had fun sharing the finds from my ridiculous low-dollar picking.
While I have enjoyed sharing said finds, the intention was never to continue doing that. I needed cash flow in order to survive, and I created that cash flow by selling small decor items lower than Habitat for Humanity ReStore (seriously, I would base my prices off of similar items at the one nearby). While we still intend to offer a large selection of items at reasonable prices, I want to shift my focus back to my original mission: mid century, and high-quality curated goods.
Furthermore, I want to expand my inventory of experiments that have gone well. Ever since we introduced costume jewelry and clothing, yall have had a field day in the store. I want to increase my capacity to sell clothes, and improve the quality of jewelry that we have for sale (don’t worry, we will keep the $$2.95 bin). In order to do that, I need to clear up some space.
That’s where you come in. From now thru this Sunday, we will be offering a 10% discount on ALL decor items. We will also be setting up a heavily discounted section (I’m talking as much as 95% off) to clear out inventory that we thought was cute enough to sell, but that we have decided is ultimately off-mission in some way. This will include things like “Terrifying Trinket Box, ‘Mama’”, “Blue Ceramic Dog,” “Weed Jar,” and so many other cute trinkets.
I’m excited to finally have the capacity to pursue my original mission, and I know that we will continue to provide a fun (and somewhat unhinged) environment where you can come shop and expect to leave with something you love and can reasonably afford.
