Repairs can be submitted through the repairs section of the website. My name is Ryan and I live in Charlottesville, Virginia. I repair and restore film cameras and have spent thousands of hours dedicating myself to the understanding and preservation of these incredible machines. It is my mission to keep these cameras alive. Every camera is a historical landmark in human achievement, visual culture

, advancement in engineering, optics and creative thought throughout the past two hundred years. From early wet plate field photography, through press cameras, twin lens reflexes, medium format SLRs and compact, sleek 35mm rangefinders, a prevailing narrative remains. We will stop at nothing to achieve creative and ingenious solutions to what is the most human instinct of all: to stop time. I am proficient in numerous camera systems and manufacturers including Hasselblad, Leica, Nikon, Canon, Linhof, Rolleiflex, Contax, Pentax, Zeiss, Mamiya, Schneider and Copal, among others. I have repaired over a thousand cameras since March of 2020, when I began working professionally at Pro Camera, after completing an apprenticeship. I have a repair failure rate of 2.4% and stand by my work. I have an unparalleled attention to detail, craftsmanship and quality. A recent question I’ve gotten: How do I arrive at the prices I charge for equipment? The main factors are of course the cost of the gear itself, and then the labor, materials and time invested in the restoration.

When you buy from myself and .us , you are buying the assurance that the camera has been serviced to the highest degree of expertise available in the United States.

What I tell people is this: you can buy a camera off of eBay for $150, and then pay me another $150 repair it (and wait 3 months). Or you can buy that same camera for $300 and receive it in a matter of days with the piece of mind that it will run for years to come. Food for thought ;)

These are truly remarkable cameras. They are made to an incredible standard of quality with machined internal parts, titanium shutter curtains and solid all metal exterior covers. The ergonomics, weight and distinctive matte black finish make them quite a camera to behold.

The thing with these cameras is they are often (if not all) plagued by the sticky mirror issue resulting from expired lubricant used in the mirror box. There are many of these cameras available on eBay for less than $300, but, unless you can confirm they have had the proper service including the removal of the mirror box and rebuilding of the mirror movement mechanism, it is only a matter of time before they seize up on you.

This is the first in a series of F1n cameras I will be selling having received the full and proper service.

Along with this camera comes a stunning 50mm f/1.4 SSC breech lock style Canon FD lens.

6 month warranty as always.

Howdy folks! It’s been a little while since the last giveaway so here’s a fun one.

The Olympus 35RC is a special camera to me- it was what brought me into the camera shop I would eventually own, and was one of the first cameras I ever repaired. These are simple, handsome little rangefinders with shutter priority semi-automatic and manual modes. This one received a complete overhaul and wood recovering.
