The Hammer has a question.

What kind of psychopath buys coffee… and then lets it sit in the pantry for six months?

You people treat coffee like it’s drywall.

“It’s fine. It’ll keep.”

No.

It’ll exist.

Those aren’t the same thing.

The Hammer spent thirty years in Armor.

Tanks don’t get better because you ignore them.

Engines don’t get stronger because they sat in a motor pool.

Ammunition doesn’t become more reliable because you forgot where you put it.

Time wins.

Every damn time.

Yet some of you buy a bag of coffee, shove it behind three cans of cream of mushroom soup and an expired bottle of paprika, then rediscover it sometime around the next leap year like you’ve uncovered buried treasure.

“I forgot I had this!”

Yeah.

So did the flavor.

Then you brew it, make a face like someone personally betrayed you, and announce that specialty coffee is overrated.

No.

YOU. RUINED. IT.

Coffee isn’t a family heirloom.

It isn’t emergency rations.

It isn’t something your grandkids should inherit.

It’s meant to be opened.
Brewed.
Finished.

Then replaced.

The Hammer has seen people rotate the batteries in their smoke detectors more often than they rotate the coffee in their pantry.

Some of you have bags in your kitchen old enough to have watched two presidential elections.

At that point, don’t drink it.

Give it a proper military funeral.

Fold the bag.
Play Taps.
Throw it away.

And for the love of everything caffeinated, stop buying new coffee until you’ve accepted that coffee is for drinking, not for long-term storage like you’re preparing for the collapse of civilization.
