I've been running at full speed, not just this week or last, not even just this month or year, but for a very, very long time. So often I am caught up in the very solid thing in front of me and so I lose track of or completely miss incredible things just on the horizon.

This picture embodies exactly this. I was taking a quick picture of this shelf to give it a chance to be something useful or potentially awesome for someone else. I was thinking of the move and getting this shelf to where ever it was going next. I never noticed the beauty in this moment. The warm light in the store with twilight moving in and the sun setting gently in the background. The sky isn't ablaze in a magnitude of beautiful light and incredible colors. It is just softly doing what it does every night.

Tonight after a long, hard few weeks, I spent time with my beautiful, loving family for a very, very special 17 year old's birthday. (Love you so much girlie pop!🥳) I stepped outside of the go, go, go insanity of a move and enjoyed and celebrated incredible, wonderful people. Will it put me behind my schedule? Probably a bit. Will it make my very long, strenuous day tomorrow a little longer? Most likely. But was it worth every single second? ABSOLUTELY!

Yesterday was 8/8. The peak of what many call the Lion’s Gate Portal.

In modern spiritual practice, the Lion’s Gate has become a time to stop living reactively for a moment and ask yourself:

What do I actually want my life to become?

It’s a time associated with releasing what no longer serves us, setting intentions for what comes next, and being willing to step into the unknown.

And today, August 9th, Minerals & Mystics closes its doors for the final time.

Just three days before we learned that our time here was coming to an end, I was thinking deeply about what I wanted my life to look like, what I wanted to create, and what I wanted the next chapter to hold while preparing for the Lion's Gate portal.

I certainly didn't know the universe was about to hand me a blank page quite so literally.

And I won't pretend that makes this easy.

Closing Minerals & Mystics is heartbreaking. This store has been so much more than four walls and things for sale. It has been a community. A gathering place. A place for curiosity, creativity, weirdness, learning, laughter, magic, and some truly wonderful humans.

But maybe endings and beginnings aren't always separate things. Yesterday was about asking what comes next. Today, we step through the door.

We are here until 5 PM today, when the doors of Minerals & Mystics will officially close for the last time.

Come see us. Come find one last treasure. Come hug us, laugh with us, tell stories, support our artists, and help us send this strange and beautiful little place off with all the magic, love & gratitude it deserves.

I don't believe this is the end of the magic.

It's just changing form. ✨

To our incredible community,
After years of sharing crystals, stories, learning, laughter, and countless meaningful conversations, Minerals & Mystics will be closing our retail storefront over the coming weeks.
Like many small businesses, we've weathered challenge after challenge over the last several years. Rising costs, changing consumer habits, and the realities of operating a brick-and-mortar business have made this decision one of the hardest we've ever faced. While this chapter is ending sooner than we had hoped, we are choosing to look forward with gratitude for everything this community has given us.
Since the day we opened our doors, our goal has never been just to sell. We wanted to create a place where people felt welcome to ask questions, learn, explore, and find something meaningful.
Because of you, we accomplished that.
Over the next week, we'll be holding our biggest sale ever as we work to find homes for our inventory, displays, and fixtures. Every purchase helps support this transition and gives these beautiful pieces a chance to continue bringing joy to someone else.
If you've been thinking about picking up that special piece, now is the time. If you've ever wanted to support a local small business, this is one last opportunity to help us close this chapter on the strongest note possible.
