Yes, that’s an original Peter Max painting in our window. 🌈 
 
Peter Max passed away last week at 88, leaving behind a legacy as colorful and unmistakable as his work. His electric colors and psychedelic imagery captured the spirit of the 1960s counterculture and made his work instantly recognizable across generations. 

Max famously described America as “a country with a heart,” and his 𝘍𝘭𝘢𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 paintings gave that idea visual form, pairing the stars and stripes with a heart to symbolize compassion alongside liberty.

Price drop on these Niels Otto Møller Model 66 armchairs 🇩🇰

Designed by Niels Otto Møller for J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, these Danish Modern classics feature beautifully sculpted teak frames and the organic curves Møller is known for.

✨ We have 7 available, and our consignor just dropped the price from $975 to $750 per chair.

The frames are tight, sturdy, and in excellent vintage condition. The seats are currently upholstered in a vintage geometric textile and can be enjoyed as-is or easily recovered in leather, paper cord, or a fabric of your choice.

The set of six makes a beautiful dining set, the pair works perfectly as host chairs, and the final single would be pretty hard to beat behind a desk.

The closer you get to Giovanni DeCunto’s “White Orchid,” the more there is to see. This was an easy staff pick this week, and it’s pretty mesmerizing.

DeCunto builds his paintings in thick layers of pure, unmixed color, squeezing acrylic straight from the tube onto the canvas rather than working with a brush or palette. This particular painting emerges from a speckled base of yellow and red primary colors, adding beautiful depth and dimension to the orchid that envelops the canvas.

“White Orchid” belongs to DeCunto’s Flower Power series, which draws on the floral traditions of Manet, Cézanne, and Gauguin. For DeCunto, flowers serve as a reminder of the beauty and fragility of the natural world, and our shared responsibility to protect it.

DeCunto’s work is held in major collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Not your average recliner.

The “Dodo,” designed by Toshiyuki Kita for Cassina, transforms from a sculptural leather lounge chair into a full recliner with footrest.

Kita’s work can be found in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Centre Pompidou, and this one just happens to be sitting in our gallery on the Downtown Mall.
