This is something we don't do very often. A very significant winter storm is on the way and it will begin Saturday evening. It will continue all day Sunday and last through Monday afternoon. The wind will also blow the snow around and lower visibility. Expect travel to be very difficult, if not, impossible. If you need to travel, do it Saturday. Once the snow begins, conditions will deteriorate fast. Between the wind and the snow, power outages may also occur. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible with this storm.

This is a great adventure to get the family outside. Depending on the conditions you may need ice cleats for your boots. Our snowshoes will most likely not work for these conditions but we want to promote getting outside any way you can in your local area. And all of our staff have been there and it is beautiful!

The walk to the Eben Ice Caves is short enough for families but still feels like an adventure. The canyon walls turn into massive ice formations each winter, with colors shaped by sandstone and cedar. It’s cold, slippery, and completely worth it. Pack warm layers, good boots, and plan time to explore the ice up close.
