This week we got a large lot of fi****ms in for repairs, refurbishment, and custom stock fitting. Also continuing our streak of 'guns in a bag', as we get to sort and reassemble some L.C. Smith shotguns.

Each one is going to get the time and attention it deserves—quality materials, precision work, and craftsmanship that lasts. We're excited to get to work on them, even though this is going to be a labor of love.

Don't Have a Tool, Make a tool.

One of the best lessons in gunsmithing—and life—is learning to solve problems with what you've got. Sometimes the tool you need doesn't exist yet in your toolbox, so you build it. In our shop, that's usually a jig to put springs back where they belong.

This is how we work at BCAC. Every challenge is an opportunity to innovate, to learn, and to create something better. Whether it's a custom fabrication or a one-off solution, we're always thinking, always adapting.

Summer is a time for playing and exploring. Something we have tried to find a good balance of lately is making sure that while the business stays running, so do the kids.

While we may be deep in the middle of steady workflow, they are also on summer break, which means that we are all coexisting in the shop. But it's also important to us to make memories for them outside of the shop too.
