Calling all smut-lovers to attend our inaugural S**t Party where you can meet kinkred spirits, swap books, and help The Reading Room transform our Romance section into a new genre we call “S**tmance”.

A church shot will wet your whistle upon arrival and then we’ll throw you to the filthy dogs. We will have smut-themed cocktails and an extra sexy playlist. Bring your favorite books to be admired, swapped, or exchanged for Reading Room credit at $2 per book. See you soon, erotic fiends and friends!

Yes that is a lot of Percy Jackson! What can I say? The kids are really into it. Then we had a thrilleresque novel on a grand scale, a buzzy new book that was fun to read, and a tiny volume of the paranormal in and around my town. Such fun! What was in your summer reading pile?

Uh-oooooh! The Reading Room is very excited to host our very first standup comedy, and even more excited to have the wickedly talented Derek Sheen and Andy Iwancio
$10 at the door!

Derek Sheen is a cuddly mess of insecurities and a gifted, one-of-a-kind storyteller. His ability to mine humor from the dark, humid corners of the human condition has made him a cult favorite of comedy nerds around the globe.

He has amassed a desperately loyal fan base touring with comedy legends (name-drop alert!) Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt and Janeane Garofalo.

Andy Iwancio is a trans gal comedian from Seattle (by way of Baltimore). With her ten years of comedy she brings a witty, sardonic and slightly profane style to her jokes about navigating marriage, having a disability.

Her full-length comedy album “Better Living Through Femmistry” was released on the legendary label Kill Rock Stars in 2024 charting at #1 on the itunes comedy chart and #1 on the amazon comedy charts. She has opened for Kyle Kinane, Whitmer Thomas, James Adomian, Gareth Reynolds, Josh Gondelman and Cameron Epsosito.
