Exciting news at ARC today! After almost a year of finding Shark Eggs in our 300 gallon Shark Tank, we finally found a fertilized one! The little squiggly line moving in the video is the embryo. It’s attached to a large yolk sack. Over the next 120-130 days the sack will get smaller as the shark grows.

We were unsure this could ever happen. The oldest female Epaulette is from Australia and the male and other female are from Papua New Guinea. We were not sure they could cross breed since the male was always tugging on the bigger females fins and never on the other Papua’s fins.

Truly, we are so proud of our Trio.
