🌾 TRENDING TUESDAY: Farmhouse Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All!
Last week, we asked which version of farmhouse style you preferred—and you definitely had opinions! 😆
Modern Farmhouse and Cottage Farmhouse tied for the favorite, with Classic Farmhouse close behind.
And that got us thinking…
If Classic, Modern, Cottage, Rustic and French Farmhouse can all look so different, what actually makes something “farmhouse”?
The answer is less about following one decorating formula and more about the feeling you create.
At the heart of farmhouse style, you’ll often find:
🪵 Natural and aged wood
🧺 Baskets and woven textures
🏺 Crocks, pitchers, pottery and simple dishes
🕯️ Useful everyday pieces displayed beautifully
🧵 Comfortable, unfussy textiles
🖼️ Vintage and vintage-inspired finds
🌿 Natural greenery and simple florals
❤️ Pieces that make a home feel collected, comfortable and welcoming
Then comes your personality.
Love clean lines and black accents? You may lean Modern Farmhouse.
Prefer florals, softer colors and cozy layers? That's Cottage Farmhouse.
Love old kitchen pieces, crocks and antiques? Classic Farmhouse may be calling your name.
Prefer a little European elegance mixed in? Try French Farmhouse.
And if weathered wood and heavily aged pieces are your thing, Rustic/Primitive Farmhouse may be more your style.
The fun part is that you don't have to choose just one.
✨ A home can be mostly Cottage Farmhouse with a little French influence—or Classic Farmhouse with a modern update.
That's what makes decorating personal.
👇 Tell us: Do you stick closely to one decorating style, or is your home a mix of several?
And keep following along—next week we're going shopping around The Rainbow Rooster Boutique to find real pieces you can use to create the farmhouse look!
