Perlisten's new X-Series is here, and we have the X2w, X3w and X5w in stock now!

All three are just 3.9" deep, with the same 1.5" silk dome tweeter in a waveguide and 5.5" carbon fiber woofers. What changes is how many woofers you get:

X2w: one woofer, 13" tall.
X3w: two woofers flanking the tweeter, 17.7" tall.
X5w: four woofers in a 3-way design, 29.1" tall.

Each one comes with a mounting bracket, an angle bracket and a grille.

Another ecstatic customer, with a system we hand-delivered and set up in their home: a pair of Perlisten R7t towers, a Perlisten R10s subwoofer and a Rogue Audio Stereo 100 Dark.

Rogue Audio's Sphinx v3 Magnum is a hybrid. Up front, a pure tube mu-follower preamp running 12AU7s. Behind it, a power stage good for 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with a damping factor over 1000. A custom 375VA toroidal transformer feeds a big linear power supply.

The Magnum is the upgraded Sphinx: JJ Gold Pin 12AU7s, upgraded coupling caps, power supply and phono stage upgrades, upgraded caps and resistors in key spots, upgraded binding posts, and a metal remote. It keeps the 44/60dB phono stage for MM or MC, the discrete MOSFET headphone amp and the tube-driven sub output. Designed and hand built in the USA.

Matrix Audio's flagship pair: the MP-1 preamplifier and the MA-1 power amplifier.

MP-1: a pure Class A output stage, free from crossover distortion, with volume set by precision resistors switched on sealed reed relays.
MA-1: 250 watts a channel into 8 ohms and 450 into 4, from a 1250VA supply with 190,000µF of filter capacitance. Add a second MA-1 later and run the pair in bridged or mono mode.

Both are available to demo at The Listening Room in Chestertown, MD.

The Matrix Audio SU-1 USB Isolation Switcher is here, and available to pre-order now.

Your USB cable carries power and ground right alongside the music. The SU-1 breaks that path with a dedicated isolation chip, powers the line from its own linear supply, and keeps five devices connected at once: three sources in, two DACs out, switched from one button.

Moving coil or moving magnet cartridge? Look at your phono stage first.

A moving coil only earns its keep when the phono stage behind it has clean gain to spare. If it doesn't, a good moving magnet or a high-output moving coil will sound better.
