Rode with Theo for a few hours today and I haven't been shy this year in letting him know he'll be missed when he likely sets out on his own path next fall.
He downplayed it, mentioned if he goes to school near the city that he can come back for things like this, etc.
I'm glad he isn't intimidated by the seismic shift ahead and we both acknowledged that change isn't inherently bad (even for the two of us who have a hard time with it). However, looking back just four years and it's a world away for these two.
You can't recapture the past and trying to control the future is a waste of energy. All I can really do is enjoy each ride for as long as each one lasts. Happy today's was a good one.
