Let me tell you, Bronze Age issues of Daredevil have become SO scarce recently - which makes this high-grade cache of late 60’s / early 70’s DD’s so fun to see. With art and covers by Gene Colan, Syd Shores, Gil Kane and Marie Severin, these issues are unsung classics of the era. All are on sale now at Atlas Comics here in Chicago! And yes, we’re still working on our autumn store sale for November 13th - 15th. More to follow!

It only took two years, but we finally replaced our old, rotting signs with some super-colorful new images! New visitors can now just scan the street for these handsome, four-color beauties as they cruise Harlem avenue on Chicago’s (otherwise mundane) northwest side! Besides the cosmetic changes both inside and outside the shop, we’re working away to unveil tons of new stock for our autumn sale, coming on November 13-16! Keep watching for more details!

A terrific group of early, high-grade issues of Marvel Team-Up are out in the shop today. We haven’t had these books in house for a couple years, and if you’re a Spider-Man collector, they are nearly must-haves! Art in these early issues are by Ross Andru and Gil Kane, two of the all-time greats. 🥳

We’re hard at work pulling new stock for the Atlas Comics annual fall sale (year 38!), including classic comics, magazines, portfolios, store promos, hardcovers, trades, paperback books, memorabilia, movie tie-ins and other rare and hard to find vintage goodies! Visit us November 13, 14 and 15 for great deals on Chicago’s BIGGEST inventory of classic back issues starting at $1@! Watch here for more details and a look at new inventory as we process it!

Spooky Season is in full swing at Atlas Comics! We’ve plumbed the depths of our mouldering files to locate classic horror comic covers from the distant past. I hate to be the guy who ONLY posts about new acquisitions at the shop, but heck! we’ve been getting a lot of cool stuff in lately! This week we received a huge run of vintage fan magazines from the 80’s & early 90’s, mostly Amazing Heroes and The Comics Journal. There are fantastic covers by McFarlane, Stevens, Hughes, Sienkiewicz and others, PLUS interviews and articles on nearly every creator, publisher or series of the era! Most issues will be priced and available later this week - stop by anytime!!!

Another collection arrived this week consisting of more than 500 classic Silver Age comics! Heavy on DC titles (Adventure, Action, Superman, JLA, Wonder Woman, Batman), it also includes a ton of fantastic Dell and Gold Key movie, TV and superhero issues (just a handful of which are shown here), plus a smattering of 60’s Marvels. All will be out in the shop by next week - with more to arrive in a few days! Ah, nostalgia…

Before John Byrne created X-Men: Elsewhen to reimagine what would have happened if Jean Grey / Phoenix hadn’t died, he wrote and drew X-Men: the Hidden Years, featuring new stories set during the Silver and Bronze ages. If you liked Elsewhen, you’ll love The Hidden Years!!
