Now you can register for classes a la carte and get marketplace tickets in addition to the packages they offer.

I’m teaching two classes on Thursday, January 14th: Knit a Cat in a Box 🐱📦 and Tiny Toy Knitting Basics: 4-Legged Creatures 🐈🐘🦌

Then you’ll be able to find me and all the cats in the art gallery area of the marketplace all weekend. (I’m bringing allll of the tiny cats!!)

This is Hell! It’s a new pattern collection! 🔥

It seems that all my recent doomscrolling has taken my new designs to a dark place, the very darkest!

Hell features three classic characters—Little Devils, Lost Souls, and Itty Bitty Bats—ready to greet you in the underworld, along with flames and a gate of hell to complete the terrifying scene.

Plus, these little devils have cute little squishy butts! (See the 2nd video for cute butts in action)

The pattern is now a PDF download at the Mochimochi Shop and on Ravelry!

And if you love these bright highlighter colors I’m using, you’re in luck, because we’ve also whipped up some Hell kits!

The intermediate patterns knit up very quickly in fingering-weight yarn on size 1 US (2.25mm) double-pointed needles. Techniques include grafting, mattress stitch, and simple embroidery—all of which are demonstrated in accompanying tutorial videos.

When I was designing Hell, I was thinking Halloween treats and spooky season decor. But we all know visions are doom are appropriate year-round these days, so I declare Hell a knitting project for all seasons! MUA-HA-HAAaaaa

I went on a most inspiring trip over Labor Day weekend: a few days in Santa Fe with one of my best friends, Audrey Peck 🏜️

Highlights included:
The wonderful yarn & fabric store Hacer Santa Fe
Books of Interest (rare art books and more)
Meow Wolf
Ten Thousand Waves
The Georgia O’Keeffe museum
The Museum of International Folk Art , which houses the most incredible collection of handmade dolls arranged in hundreds of dioramas huge and small

Not to mention all the good food, the breathtaking landscape, and the beautiful town itself!

Santa Fe, I will return to you!

Soupy and I have news: one of us is going to Rhinebeck!

Sorry, it’s not the cat. But I will be bringing many tiny cats for you to knit!

You’ll be able to find me in the Merritt Bookstore + Toystore area, where I’ll be signing books and just hanging out and taking it all in.

The last time I was at this legendary sheep & wool festival was way back in 2012, so I bet a few things have changed in the meantime. If you’ll be there too, please stop by and say hi!
