Bloodletting or Bleeding bowls were used from the medieval era into the 19th century. These two are probably 18th or 19th century. They were used to collect blood during bloodletting, which was believed to be a cure for various aliments by balancing the four humors.

The Devil’s Hitching Post, as it was historically called, is now known as Elephant Trunk Rock, and located in Southwest, WI about 20 min from my dad’s house.
Legend has it that when there was a death in the community, a man on a black horse tied his mount there and wandered over the hills and returned with the Angel of Death.
The rock was saved from demolition in 1923 from locals when road crews tried to blast it to straighten the adjacent highway.
The rock stands proud today along highway 58 in Richland County (only few miles from where Frank Loyd Wright was born) in Wisconsin’s magical Driftless region. There’s a pullover and a little park so you can take pics, and don’t forgot to tell my dad I says hi.

I made a new sticker.

Also, the fact that The Odyssey is all the rage right now is purely coincidental. I haven’t seen it. I just have a thing for cyclopses. I don’t even know Matt Damon.

Also, I’m out of town atm, so I will bring this stack of stickers to the shop next week when I return.
