On Hold, but a nice m1816 w/ a Springfield.m1827 bayonet. These were the backbone of many troops East and West on both sides. Many were altered to percussion at Federal arsenals before the war, but many Southern gunsmiths were tasked with converting them to percussion as well.

Just arrived! In good condition with functional mechanics! The stock is sound without major cracks or damage. The barrel is a smoothbore but could be removed by someone like Bobby Hoyt for live-fire. The metal has a nice even patina to it.

The front band spring has a broken latch but a new one could be purchased and hand-fitted with minor work from S&S.

Nice Austrian Lorenz ri**es are hard to come by. And as the second most important European long arm, these saw service in all major theaters.

This would be an attractive option and still cheaper than a new reproduction after a relining- and it will accept a bayonet! ;)
