Let's savor one of the last few summer weekends together. I can't tell you how sweet it's been to do events this year. There's been something in the air, the desire for community, for shopping small... It's hard to describe but I'm so grateful for it. I straddle the line of being an extrovert and an introvert, and events like these always fill me up with so much joy.

Find HEMLEVA at the intersection of Wolcott and Division! I'm right on a corner at the middle of the fair on the same street as all of the food trucks.

+ This is the flagship event for Renegade Craft and it's my favorite event of the year! With over 400 (!!) artists, makers and small businesses, we take over Division Street for an entire weekend. It's going to be hot and sunny on Saturday and much cooler on Sunday. Please stop by to say hello, and to show me what HEMLEVA things you have! (This is one of my highlights of in person events. 🥰)

Seattle • Today from 11-4 stop by the Maum Market to adopt a Goose! 🪿✨

I will be bringing all of my lil handmade porcelain guys, like these cuties including geese, chickens, pigeons (the last batch I picked up yesterday are So Adorable!) or one of my last two Snow Fairy Birds.

I will also have my rainbow making suncatchers, earrings, pins, and my three ice dye t-shirts!

Just a couple of seagulls, together, against the world. With a snack and a little egg. 💗

This was a custom request from a very sweet human, for two friends of theirs.

This last batch of seagulls I made are so darling. A few of them have tiny little wings, but every one of them will have a french fry, a little woven nest and an egg.

I'll be bringing seagulls, pigeons and (new) geese (🪿!!!) with me to Maum Market tomorrow in Seattle and next weekend in Chicago with Renegade Craft

I can't believe it's already September. The nights are cool, the days are shortening, I'm looking forward to Halloween and Cookie Swaps. But in the meantime...

Iris Pins are back in stock, right in time for them to be planted!

Rhizomatous Irises are planted in late summer to early fall, 4-6 weeks before the first hard frost. And Bulbous Irises are planted in the autumn, 6-8 weeks before the ground freezes.

This pretty flower symbolizes hope, faith, wisdom, valor, communication, and this purpley blue Iris also means royalty, wisdom and admiration.

One thing that I think about often is the idea that so many of us are living these parallel lives. We are experiencing things at the same time or on similar timelines, and it's just a matter of when our paths overlap that we get to meet.

A very sweet customer sent me this photo last week. She had purchased one of my Daisy Suncatchers as a sweet was to remember her grandmother, Daisy. When she sent me this photo I was reminded of a book when I read in the third grade, "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes". When I mentioned it to my customer, she told me that she read it in the third grade too and that she and her cousin had made these for her grandmother!

I love how small the world is. How it overlaps and winds together. How we have these shared memories and experiences that stay with us, and shape us.

And I will forever be grateful that the things I do, the things I make and dream up, get to be a part of your lives.

Sending you all a little love today along with a reminder to slow down, even for a moment, to reflect on where you are, who you are, and how far you've come. 🍃

A friend recently shared a little life update and she talked about how she and her partner have been together for so long. And how they're different people now compared to when they met, and how they've grown together.

I love that so much, and it's something that I think about often.

The idea that we evolve and change so quickly. It's only when we look further back that we feel the shift in our perspectives and our personalities, but every single interaction has some small impact on us, and helps to hone who we are, what we believe and how we show up in the world.

This is a photo from 4 or 5 years ago.

Several of these pins have sold out and it feels like my business has changed so much over the years, but I hope what feels the same is the heart of my business. A place built from love and kindness, a softer space full of whimsy and joy, and a love of nature and plants.

The last photos are of my sold out Vase Pins that Sandy asked about months ago! I found some first quality ones that I had saved and reached out to her to let her know. Do any of you remember them?

It never hurts to ask, in fact it helps me a lot.

It helps me to keep an eye on my website, the quantities get murky when I combine online sales, in person events, wholesale and when inventory is pulled because there are imperfections.

It helps me because I'm one person that manages all of those things including Quality Control.

It helps me know what you are all looking for or want to see again.

And it helps me design new collections too! I'm excited to find time this week to work on a few new collections, to play around with materials and products, and to source manufacturers and suppliers for some products that have been living rent free for years.

So please do ask. I love hearing from you all. 💗

Thank you for the beautiful weekend, Seattle. From my very first Convention with PlantCon International ® to zipping over to Fremont for the MiiR Market, the days were long, but they were filled with so many bright sparks of joy, and that was all of you.

From the friends that visited, the friendly and familiar faces that stopped by, to the surprise and shock that filled people as they experience my products and my company for the first time. I met so many people, some of which already feel like friends.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me when someone takes the time to pause to experience my work, and how their faces light up with joy when they absorb it all. It's such a special feeling.

I'm officially in recovery/low-power mode right now. Functioning, but a little dimmer as I recharge from such a full weekend. I have a few weekends off, and have so many plans with friends filling in all of the little cracks.

How do you recharge?

I personally love a nap, takeout and binge watch, to travel, craft and garden. I also just booked a massage appointment, but the appointment isn't until October, so I will hold tight (literally) until then, lol!
