Shelly's Loan & Jewelry Co. Shelly's Loan is a family-run Chicago pawnshop. Trusted Chicago pawnshop • Buy gold • Pawn with confidence Shelly's Loan and Jewelry Co.

We offer honest, fair pawn loans, top dollar for gold, & respectful service you can trust; a local pawn shop where community & value come first. Our family has been in the pawnshop business since 1911 when our great grandfather and his first cousin opened a store up the block on 47th. Shelly's Loan was opened in 1946, after Shelly returned home from the war. Our family has been serving the neighborhood for almost 100 years. gives loans on anything of value; gold, silver, electronics, instruments and tools. We buy gold, silver, platinum and old coins. You can always find a good deal at Shelly's Loan & Jewelry Co., whether you are looking for a nice piece of gold jewelry, television, game systems, tools or a guitar/instruments. Our prices are usually 25-50% discounted from the prices you would pay retail shops or at the mall. We are active member of the 51st business district committee and the Bronzeville Quad Communities group. We are committed to this neighborhood and it's residents. We support many of the local charities and churches in their efforts to provide programs for the children and for the community. In 1980, the famous Blues Brother's mural was painted on our building and the "Shake a Tail Feather" scene was filmed out front of the store. The movie producers paid to alter our sign to read "Ray's Music Exchange". In 2001, our family had a local artist touch up the mural to remove any graffiti and keep the historical value. We have a lot of fun blues Brother's memorabilia and posters in the store for viewing. Unfortunately the building burned down in 2020 so the mural is no longer there. Come by and see us sometime in our flagship location at 222 E. 51st, Chicago, Illinois 60615.
