We ranked the 10 employee recognition software providers HR teams shortlist most often, and wrote up where each one actually fits.

The short version: most platforms handle peer recognition and gift cards well, then fall apart when you want automated milestones, branded merch, or a company store without warehouse inventory.

Givenly took the #1 spot because it covers all of it in one platform: team recognition, milestone automations, rewards, Brand On Demand merch, and no-inventory company stores.

Our 2026 Holiday Gift Guide is here, and Santa got an upgrade. 🎁

60 gifts across six categories, from smart glasses that translate 144+ languages to a build-your-own letterman jacket and a pizza oven that turns out wood-fired style pizza in 4 to 6 minutes. Every gift has a budget band and a part number, so it's easy to tell your rep exactly which ones you like.

Inside you'll also find six ways to send them, from one branded gift-of-choice link to fully branded holiday kits.

Work anniversaries are the easiest recognition moment to get right. And the easiest to miss.

Someone hits year 5. Their manager is in back-to-back meetings. HR is heads-down on open enrollment. The date passes. Nobody says anything. That employee notices.

Multiply that by a headcount of 2,000 and you don't have a recognition program. You have a calendar reminder that keeps getting snoozed.

The fix isn't "try harder." It's structure. Milestone dates stored in the platform. Automated triggers on the anniversary. A branded store the employee picks from, no inventory sitting in a closet, no scramble to source something in 48 hours.

Set it once. It runs whether the program owner is on PTO, in a QBR, or gone entirely.

If you're rebuilding your anniversary program for next year, the playbook is here: https://blog.givenly.com/employee-anniversary-recognition-program/

Quick gut check for finance and ops leaders: can you pull a full-year spend number on branded goods in under a day?

Most mid-market companies cannot. Marketing, HR, Sales, and Ops are each running their own swag vendor, on their own contract, with their own invoice. The result is a merch line item nobody can defend in a board meeting.

We wrote up the procurement case for collapsing gifting, on-demand merch, event promo, and employee recognition onto one contract and one report. Includes the five questions your exec report should answer on demand.
