Do you know the difference between handcrafted and commercially made Candles ? Here are some key points to help you learn the difference !
Handcrafted Candles
• Made in small batches – Often poured by hand, with careful attention to detail.
• Higher quality ingredients – Makers usually choose cleaner-burning waxes (like soy, coconut, or beeswax), natural cotton or wooden wicks, and premium fragrance oils or essential oils.
• Unique & personal – Every candle may have slight variations, giving it character and charm. Makers can experiment with custom scents, colors, and styles.
• Eco-conscious – Many small makers prioritize sustainability, using reusable containers, non-toxic ingredients, and eco-friendly packaging.
• Artistry & passion – Handcrafted candles often feel like a piece of art, created with love and creativity.
Commercially Made Candles
• Mass-produced – Usually made in factories by machines, allowing thousands of candles to be produced quickly.
• Lower cost ingredients – Often use paraffin wax (a petroleum byproduct) and synthetic fragrances, which can release more soot and toxins.
• Uniform & identical – Every candle looks the same, with little to no variation.
• More affordable & widely available – Easy to find in big-box stores and often cheaper, but usually with less focus on craftsmanship.
• Less personalization – Scents and designs are chosen to appeal to the broadest market, not tailored to individual tastes.
