My family and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has reached out with your condolences, kind words, memories, and stories about my father. The outpouring of love and respect for him has meant more to us than we can express during this difficult time.

Please forgive us if we have missed responding to anyone personally. There have been so many thoughtful messages, comments, emails and phone calls, and it has simply been difficult to respond to each and every one.

As we take some time privately as a family and begin moving forward, we may not be able to respond to any additional messages or comments. Please know that your words are still deeply appreciated, whether or not we are able to personally acknowledge them.

We are truly grateful for the kindness, love and respect you have shown my father and our family. Thank you all very much.

As many of you already know, my father, Wayne R. Charvel, passed away peacefully on Sunday.
My father was unexpectedly rushed to the emergency room. It was completely unexpected, and everything happened so quickly. I immediately flew to Arizona to be with him, and our family was by his side. On Sunday morning, while I was holding his hand, my dad peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
It still doesn't seem real.
Many of you knew him as a legendary guitar builder, craftsman, and musician. I was blessed to simply call him Dad. Of everything he accomplished in his life, what meant the most to me was that he was a loving father.
Our only focus was spending every possible moment with him and supporting one another as a family. Because of that, we weren't able to let everyone know right away, and I apologize for the delay.
Thank you to everyone who has called, texted, emailed, and shared your prayers and kind words. They have meant more than you know. I may not be able to respond to every message for a while, but please know that I truly appreciate each and every one of them.
Please continue to keep my mom, our family, and everyone whose lives Dad touched in your prayers.
Rest in peace, Dad. I love you, and I will miss you every day.

This Wayne Rock Legend was built in 2002 for Eddie Van Halen and was painted in nitro lacquer and distressed by Michael Charvel.
