There is just something about doing a show at a Lavender Ranch that makes me want to bring my best French goodies. So this old French wash stand will be making the trip to the Lavender Fields show in a few weeks, as will the wonderful French Lavender soap I import from Marseille.

Out in the garage getting items ready for the Lavender Fields show and …I stumbled on a cache of painted frames I didn’t even know I had. One has been turned into a mirror, one in a bulletin board and one is yet to be finished. Due to fact that one is such a unique shape I’m thinking another bulletin board perhaps

Step 1: find the cute garden chairs.
Step 2: drive an hour to pick them up
Step 3: go to the hardware store and buy a panel of thick wood to make seats and back supports. Make cardboard patterns, trace them on ply wood and cut them out.
Step 4: find seat cushions that actually fit the oversized chair bottoms. Then hunt all over town for other garden cushions with the same fabric to use on the back rests.
Step 5: use the store bought cushions to upholster the ply wood bases.

It’s been quite a long process and it took ALL day just to get the cushions for one of the pair chairs finished, but it sure looks good now that it’s done. Next day I have off work will be used finishing up chair #2.

Now the hard part is going to be actually selling them because they are fabulous, well made and look really, really cute in my garden.

The show is fast approaching and the menu for lunch has been set. I’m not sure if there will still be lunch tickets avai...

The show is fast approaching and the menu for lunch has been set. I’m not sure if there will still be lunch tickets available to purchase the day of the show, but they still have some for sale at 8th and Main antiques for those of you who want to enjoy a meal while you shop.

First course is Panino inbottito all Siciliana. Aka, a prosciutto sandwich with cheese.

Second course is a lovely Insalata di pasta.

And for desert, two different types of hand made cookies.

Your lunch will also include Iced Tea.

Well, I don’t know if it’s scammers or just rude people, but I have had two people sending me messages asking about products in the past couple days and then go radio silent mid conversation as soon as I tell them I do not accept Zelle or Venmo payments.

Today’s message was from a woman named Disha who wanted me to mail her a dress. Not a problem. I am happy to mail items. I told her I’d go to the shop and get it, take it to the post office and get an exact quote on shipping costs and then be in touch. And for the second time, with the second customer in 2 days I find that they have left the chat they started and blocked me before I can respond with the info they requested.

Why? Is there something they can get from my account simply by my responding to their messages? Because clearly they were fishing for something and I don’t think it is a dress.

Alrighty then… I’m turning off notifications for messages for this page for the time being. Meaning I won’t know you sent me a message asking about an item unless you post on the page and tell me to check for the message. Just a quick… I sent you a message… in the post with the item you are interested in. Or just ask your question in the comment section of the post itself and I’ll be more than happy to respond with prices, sizing etc there.
