Here's a Big 5 gallon jug marked with Cobalt on the top. There are names on the Jug that you can't hardly make out. I believe this is a local piece of pottery. it's not often you find Big 5 gallon jugs like this that are marked. In good shape and ready to set in any house.

I will start the morning with a nice tavern / dining table. It has breadboard ends on it and is made of cherry.This is a great old table ,it's pegged together and has good dovetailing on the drawers. the dimensions on it are 25 1/2 deep 39 wide and 28 1/2 tall.

A desk with a secret. This desk at one time belonged to Jefferson Davis the president of the Confederate States of America. It was stolen by the Yankees and then given back. It has branding inside the door from the plantation that president Davis owned. I have all the documentation and provenance with this. I was taking it apart I found a hidden compartment with a 1859 penny. These were sometimes called copper nickels and they just made this from 1859 to 1864. President Davis give this desk as a gift to the Governor and when the governor's niece got married and he gifted it to her as a wedding gift, and it's been passed down through the family since.It is a one of a kind for sure.I feel privileged to have it.

In all the years that I've done this business, I've seen hundreds of drop leaf tables. I've never seen a drop leaf table with one leaf on the back of it, though. It came from a local estate and looks like cherry to me. It has two drawers with chamfered bottoms. It's in great shape, just shows the wear from being a 1800s table; this one's probably from 1820 to 1830. The lady I got this table from said it was a Smyth County, Virginia piece. Now, I don't know if she found it there or it was made there, but it is a very early table.
