Every great story has a beginning, and the story of Phantom Racing Chassis started with a vision, a passion for racing, and a whole lot of hard work.
In 1989, Harrill Wiggins Jr. began building racing chassis in a 900-square-foot building in Camden, South Carolina. What started as a small operation fueled by a passion for racing grew into a name recognized by racers across the country.
In 1996, PRC moved to its current building, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth. Over the years, Phantom has continued to evolve, developing innovative chassis, embracing new technology, and building a legacy in the sport.
Today, our manufacturing capabilities have grown, our technology continues to advance, and our team continues to find ways to improve. From CNC machinery to our new robotic welding system, we’re always working to build on the foundation laid nearly four decades ago.
While the equipment and technology have changed, the heart of PRC remains the same. This business has never been just about building go-karts. It’s about the people, the relationships, the racers who trust us, and the countless memories made at racetracks across the country.

In January 2026, Trey and Brittany Thompson took over the day-to-day operations of Phantom Racing Chassis, carrying forward the business Harrill and Staci Wiggins built. For Brittany, it’s more than a business—it’s part of her family’s story. Together, Trey and Brittany are committed to honoring that history while continuing to innovate, grow, and build a future the next generation can be proud of.
From a 900-square-foot building in Camden to the shop we call home today, we’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what lies ahead.
